On Tuesday, November 27, 2012, the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce will be presented with a check on behalf of the BP Gulf Tourism and Seafood Promotional Fund. The press conference and check presentation will take place at the Edgewater Beach Resort pool deck at 10:30am, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Patrick Juneau, representing the BP Gulf Tourism and Seafood Promotional Fund, will present the grant money to Beach Chamber Chairman, Paul Wohlford.
The Beach Chamber is one of only two organizations from Bay County to be awarded BP grant money. The funds will be put towards the 2013 Panama City Beach Seafood & Music Festival. It is the Beach Chamber’s hope that with the help of the Gulf Tourism and Seafood Promotional Fund, it will be able to not only bring awareness, but re-brand the Gulf Coast region as an abundant resource for seafood and fishing.

Next year, one golfer who will be getting a lot of attention at the tee is China native Tian-Lang Guan, who will be the youngest player ever in a major tournament at the ripe age of fourteen.

He recently became the Asia-Pacific Amateur Champion, and became the youngest player ever in a European Tour tournament at the Volvo China Open this year. And come April, Guan will be getting his shot right along with the big dogs at Augusta.

October is national Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Many professional golfers, other athletes, celebrities, and just great people around the world celebrate the importance of this cause and helping to find a cure for breast cancer by wearing pink, especially during October. It was an exciting Ryder Cup, to say the least. Do we really have to wait two years for the next one?

The European team clenched the victory Sunday at Medinah Country Club near Chicago after three days of grueling match ups. It all came down to the last day with the American team leading, but Europe pulled the biggest comeback in the history of the tournament, going into the final round on top at 14-13. Tiger Woods and Francesco Molinari went head to head and ultimately split the match, making the final score of the tournament Europe– 14.5, U.S.– 13.5.
While it was a tough loss for the Americans, European captain Jose Olazabal was ecstatic to retain the Cup. The 46-year-old has a long history with the tournament as one of the first non-British European players, and has competed in the Ryder Cup seven times. “As everybody knows Jose is a very passionate man and has an unbelievable size of heart,” Team member Nicolas Colsaerts said of his captain and friend. ”He has lived for this game all of his life and more than anything this competition.”

U.S. captain Davis Love III said although the defeat was hard, he was happy with the way his team played. “[They] conducted themselves with class all week and inspired the fans. Everybody in America can be proud of this team,” he said.
